Waste2Resources is DIRECTORY of Sources, Sinks and links for creating sustainable waste partnerships between the business and community sector in Essex.

This directory consists of:

  • Sources of resources from waste, e.g Businesses with items for donation such as seconds, bike parts, offcuts etc
  • Sinks - Organisations and companies who accept waste resources and stop them being dumped in landfill
  • Useful internet Links

This printed version is also available on line and will be regularly updated. To view the on-line directory visit www.waste2resources.org.uk

This directory will help to inform you about:

  1. Waste solutions available to your business/organisation
  2. How to reduce your business disposal costs for waste
  3. How you can help support local community waste organisations

How this directory will benefit you:

  • Business waste can be reduced and therefore disposal costs, as most community waste organisations collect often at lower rates than the commercial sector
  • Businesses will be supporting local community waste groups and the wider community demonstrating corporate social responsibilty (CSR)
  • Community groups will have increased donations of resources to pass on to those in need, for fundraising and can create jobs and training opportunities.

The directory has been created by the Essex Community Reuse and Recycling Network (ECORRN) and WasteWISE Consultants with funding from ChangeUp administered by the Essex Southend and Thurrock Infrastructure Consortium (ESTIC).

Our aim:

To develop sustainable partnerships between local businesses, community waste organisations, voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations and Councils to establish arrangements that reduce business waste resources sent to landfill.
