Battery and Textile Recycling for Harlow District Council

Author ecorrn     Categories

Kerbside collection of batteries and textile is provided to low-rise buildings in Harlow. These services operate separately from your blue box and white bag scheme.

Textile Recycling Service

About your scheme

  • Your local kerbside textiles recycling scheme is called Text-BAC - you can recognise it from the logo on the bags delivered to your home. This service is provided in partnership with Harlow district council.
  • Collections are made from all low-rise properties approximately once every three months.

What do I need to do?

  • Please fill the text-BAC bag with textiles, using a separate bag for bric-a-brac and other items.
  • Leave outside your property on your collection day, which is printed on the white label on your Text-BAC bag.
  • If you need more than one bag, please use bin bags clearly marked Text-BAC and put it next to the Text-BAC bag.

Don’t Use Bogus Collectors
Bogus collectors sell your donated textiles for their own profit. Using the Text-BAC service you can be sure your textiles are being recycled. Look out for the Text-BAC logo.

To find out more about what happens to your textiles and collection dates, please visit www.ecco.org.uk or call 01279 444244.

Battery Recycling

In the UK we throw away over 600 million batteries every year. By participating in this new recycling scheme, you can make a positive difference.

About your scheme
Batteries are now being collected from the kerbside of low-rise properties in Harlow on a 3 monthly basis for recycling.

What do I need to do?

  • Use the small boxes delivered to your door to collect your used or unwanted batteries.
  • Close the box and leave it on the boundary of your property on the date shown on the box. [Insert picture of box]
